 <title><![CDATA[Envelope bearing Albert Skeates' name]]></title>

At the back of the burial register I found a brown envelope addressed to Major George Parsons, Forces Chaplain and postmarked 18th August 1939. Inside were two internment certificates and five body disposal certificates all for unidentified men whose bodies had been recovered from the sea during the Dunkirk evacuation. One internment certificate was for 20 year old 1st Class Aircraftsman Lambert Howarth who was killed on 16th September 1940 when a cross channel shell hit his barrage balloon station on the seafront. <br />

On the back of the envelope I was surprised to find Albert Skeates' details. Information update 13/2/2012:<br />
<i>Lance Corporal Skeates of No.6 Troop was killed late afternoon on the 1st November 40 by shrapnel from an exploding shell whilst walking along the Dover-Deal road somewhere between a crossroads and a junction. He was given a military funeral at St. James' Cemetery in Dover at 15:00 on the 4th November. Information taken from No5 Cdo War Diaries</i><br />
