<description><![CDATA[Signalman Larry Codd, No.11 Commando, was captured at Tobruk, by the Italian Army, in 1941 whilst volunteering to drive a water truck in search of water for his beleaguered colleagues. <br />
Managing eventually, to escape captivity, through the desert, to the British lines. <br />
He later served with No.2 Commando and was, again, taken prisoner on the island of Vis (Yugoslavia) on Tuesday 6th June 1944.<br />
He was captured, after volunteering, to go on a mission to rescue Lieutenant Colonel Jack Churchill and was subsequently interned in Stalag V11A &amp; Stalag X111A, in Germany. <br />
He was liberated on Saturday 28th April 1945, and repatriated.]]></description>
