Second Lieutenant John Middleton Hutchings

John Middleton 'Jack' Hutchings worked his way up the ranks before being sent to OCTU for Officer training. He is listed in the personnel of No 3 Commando who took part in the Lofoten raid as 53338214 L/Cpl Hutchings, J. Royal Berkshire Regt.
He is in a photo taken in May 1942 of the Sergeants in No 3 Commando which can be viewed HERE.
He later took part in the action at Sicily, Torre De Cuba and Agnone, before being sent to OCTU in 1944. He was commissioned 2/Lt on the 29th July 1944.
2/Lt Hutchings died during the action near Brachterbreek, Netherlands.
