The car in the photo, bearing the CO's flag, is a BMW 326 built between 1936 - 1941. Another car that Pte Gallacher drove for Lt Col Tod was built by the SS Cars Ltd (formerly known as Swallow Sidecar Company) which later changed its name to Jaguar Cars Ltd.
