Enlisted 2 September 1941. Trade on enlistment Garage Hand (Mechanic). Served in 3 Troop, 1 RM Engineer Commando who were attached to HQ 3 Special Service Brigade in October 1943 and deployed for active service in the Far East. Qualified as a Driver and Vehicle Mechanic (Group A).
