Petty Officer Kenneth Bevis, Royal Naval Beach Commando 'O', died at Elba during Operation Brassard. He received a posthumous Mention in Despatches for distinguished service in operations carried out in the face of determined opposition from the enemy which led to the capture of the island of Elba. Extract from the Birmingham Mail newspaper 1945
