<br />
Edward Sydney Stanley Cox was born on the 29th January 1925 in Romford, Essex. He enlisted as a Royal Marine, service number CH/X/113227, at RM Lympstone Depot on 2nd Feb.1943 aged 18 and on the 12th November 1943 he was attached to 47RM Commando. In June 1944 he took part in the Battle for Port-en-Bessin during Operation Overlord, and was wounded. Post war he was discharged on the 24th July 1946 and later wrote a short account of how he was wounded and made it back to allied lines. <br />
<br />
Ted Cox died aged 87 on the 25th May 2012<br />
