Private James Henry Mather, 50 Middle East Commando died 26/8/1945

Pte Mather was taken POW May 1941 Crete. He was imprisoned at Camp 4C,Stalag Wistritz bei Teplitz. He died in the UK shortly after release due to ill treatment whilst a prisoner. His brother Kenneth also died on service.
His other brothers also served as follows :
Ernest Mather served as Captain, RHA in Western Desert and Normandy;
Victor Mather served in submarines in the Pacific;
Barry Mather served in Korean War 1950-52.
