He later volunteered for the Commandos and was attached to No.3 Commando. Served in 6 Troop. Returned to Coldstream Guards when No.3 Commando was disbanded. Released to Regular Army Reserve 11 August 1947. Final commando rank attained was Corporal. Final military rank attained Sergeant.<br />
