This photo from the IWM is titled "Sgt J G Dickinson, a section leader with No. 9 Commando at Anzio, equipped for a patrol with his a Lee Enfield No.4 Mk I rifle and fixed bayonet, 5 March 1944." I contacted the IWM and asked them to check the photo records as I was aware a Sgt. J.S Dickinson from No.9 Cdo had later been killed in action. They agree that this photo must be of him with an error being made on the 'G' instead of an 'S' for his middle initial and are updating their records accordingly. If anyone has further information regarding this please contact the CVA.
