Wally Beeden No 2 Cdo - Wally volunteered for the Commandos whilst in Salisbury with the Royal Corps of Signals. On completion of his training at Achnacarry he moved to No 2 Commando. He served in Scotland, Gillingham in Dorset, Sicily, Italy, Island of Vis, into Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, back to Italy when the war ended. He then went to Winchester where the Commando was disbanded and then back to his old unit in Chester. He was demobbed in Taunton. His four brothers also served in the Army, the youngest of whom was killed in Italy, another was severely injured at Dunkirk. Wally is the last survivor of five brothers and three sisters and retains a wicked sense of humour and a cheerful attitude to life. Good on you Wally.
