<description><![CDATA[Believed to have been taken at the Old Racecourse in Ayr.<br />
<br />
<b>1st (front) row seated from the left:</b><br />
Sgt.Richard Sims MM was one of the 5 who evaded capture after landing at St Nazaire and made it back to the UK; <br />
TSM Arthur Wardle (returned from St Nazaire) went to OCTU and became an officer with No.3 Cdo; <br />
Sgt Richard O'Brien DCM MM was evacuated from St Nazaire (Operation Chariot). Took part in Operation Musketoon &amp; awarded the DCM (see our albums on this operation.) Awarded the MM for his gallantry at Salerno. <br />
<b>2nd row:</b> <br />
Cpl. Stanley George Stevenson was evacuated from St Nazaire (Operation Chariot). Wounded at Salerno.<br />
<br />
There are several in this picture who were killed in action. I have listed those I can confirm. <br />
