Men from the 1st and 2nd Bn.'s Liverpool Scottish who volunteered for Special Service and were posted to No.4 Independent Company. Most of these men went on to No.2 Commando 5 troop when formed. Many took part in Operation Chariot, the raid on the dry dock of St Nazaire. <br />
