James Walton (8 Alma Commando Battery, 95 Commando RA) adds "This photo was taken whilst he was serving in the Royal Artillery in Korea. He is on the left with his (broken) mine damaged armoured car. Later, when the Army Commandos were reformed, Major Atkins was the first Battery Commander of the new VIII Alma Commando Battery RA, Lord Alma to those in the know."

James Walton (8 Alma Commando Battery, 95 Commando RA) adds "Two Fijian’s - Phillipe (Ravu) Ravouko the barber and Roger Wale, both Army standard rugby players. Roger was also an Army standard Light Heavy Boxer, on one occasion Roger fought Lt Heavy and Heavy weight in the same match against the 1st NZ Infantry Regiment in Nee Soon, knocking both his opponents out in round two. Both in 95 Commando RA."

His sister Susan Donohoe adds that her brother served in 79 Kirkee Battery and also with the SAS, ending his military service teaching others at the Citadel in Plymouth.
