Private William Liston
This photo is courtesy of Steve Scott who states the following : "This photo has been passed down through the family since William was billeted with my gt grandparents so when William`s great nephew contacted me through my site two weeks ago he was amazed that I had the photo and as he knew nothing of his time in Keswick I could also tell him that he had met and married his wife Joyce Douthwaite at Keswick in 1943, through this in the last few days he has been able to make contact with William`s son." William is also remembered on the Keswick War Memorial and on Steve's website http://keswick-at-war.yolasite.com/
An entry from the No.6 Commando War Diary (courtesy of the Pegasus Archive website) states the following :
11th June 1944 Place: In the field, Le Plein
We shell BREVILLE. We are shelled heavily. We capture a ½ track 20mm gun.
p.m. - Continued to be shelled. Casualties 3.
