<description><![CDATA[From the 2 SBS memorandum we have, CSM Weatherall was formerly a L/Sgt in 101 troop, No.6 Commando. He was a regular soldier who carried out operations with Capt. Livingstone MBE. He received a Mention in Despatches and became Operational CSM of 2 SBS. The following information provided by Jean Poirriez comes from G.B. COURTNEY : SBS in World War Two. Robert Hale, London, 1983:<br />
<br />
Duke of Wellington Regiment, N°6 Commando, July 1940, 101 Troop, April 1941, N°2 Special Boat Section (N°2 SBS) 11 March 1942. <br />
During Operation TORCH (1 to 8 of November 1942), took part in the marking and guidage of American forces to the Algerian beaches.<br />
From 20th of November to 10th of December 1942 : demolition of a rail track and of electric cables, west of Savona, Italia.<br />
From 3rd to 4th of August 1943, Operation FORFAR LOVE : reconnaissance of the east pier of Dunkirk’s harbour.<br />
In May 1944, the N°2 SBS is divided in 3 Groups and sent to Ceylon. Sergeant WEATHERALL is in “C” Group.<br />
On 20th of December 1944 , “C” Group is sent to the Arakan coast, south-west of Burma. They made several reconnaissances towards the Japanese lines.]]></description>
