'Gran' Wass and Andy Younger, No.5 Commando, Falmouth 1941
[Photo courtesy of Andy Younger's son, Colin].
Left Frank Granville 'Gran' Wass, right Andy Younger.
Colin tells us that Gran and Andy were billeted together with the Pascoe family in Falmouth.
Gran was Andy's Best Man at his wedding on 6 November '43.
I think it fair to assume that Gran & Andy were 'commando pals'.
It's nice to note that the Youngers stayed friends with the Pascoes and visited them for many years after the War.
The 4 mentioned in the wedding photo stuck together all through the war, my Dad told me that one of them had an identity change when they first volunteered for the Commandos as he didn't get in but I can't remember who.
