Andy Younger, No.5 Cdo., and wife Barbara (née Shaw), Bognor Regis, 1943
On the occasion of their wedding at St John the Baptist Church, Bognor Regis on 6 November 1943. Andy & Barbara were married by special licence due to the imminent movement of No.5 Commando. The Bride was 'given away' by Sgt Charles Nevatt. Pte Granville Wass was Best Man and Sgt Jimmie Grahame was Groomsman.
12 November '43 No.5 Cdo entrained for port of embarkation.
13 November the Unit detrained at Liverpool and embarked on HMT G10 for service overseas...
14:00 hrs, 15 November '43 HMT G10 (Reina Del Pacifico) set sail for India - at this point the commandos did not know their destination...
