Lawrence Ernest Page, a Joiners Apprentice from Cricklewood, London, enlisted into the Royal Marines (PO/X115332) at Lympstone 20th August 1942. Commando service commenced 1st of September 1943 when posted to the newly formed 44RM Commando. Served in 'A' Troop. Active service in the Far East (India, Ceylon, and Burma). 44RM Commando formed part of 3 Special Service (Commando) Brigade along with 42RM Commando and No.1 (Army) Commando and No.5 (Army) Commando.
