Quote from Commando Association Newsletter 84 of March 1987:
"LONG SERVING MEMBER OF THE TEAM STANDS DOWN We record with much pleasure our great debt of gratitude to member Charles Hustwick (l Bde Sig Tp & 1 Cdo) who, at the age of seventy, recently relinquished the appointment of Honorary Secretary of our Cardiff Branch. Ever since the first meeting held at the Carlton, Queen Street, Cardiff, on the lst April, 1949, Charles, in his quiet and efficient manner, has ably steered the Branch along for close on thirty-eight years, during which time he dealt with many matters concerning the welfare of local comrades, in addition to organising a total of twenty-seven Annual South Wales rallies with very great success. We join our Cardiff area comrades in this tribute and are as delighted as we know they are that Charles intends to remain an active member of the Branch. and a source of encouragement and help, whenever required, to his successor, Les Williams. We wish Charles, and his dear wife Vera, who has supported him throughout, an abundance of good health and happiness for many years to come."
