Mentioned in Despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in North Africa (Algeria and Tunisia). Died in service post war from injuries sustained in a jeep accident whilst Lieutenant, 4th Lincolns, B.A.O.R.
This photo of Leslie, his parents, and his brothers and sisters, was taken December 1945. His brother Ian, an RAF Navigator, is on the right. His brother Sgt Alan Patterson is missing as he was still in Canada serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery.
