Edward Lawrence 'Ted' Battley

Ted landed on D Day with 47 RM Commando. He was wounded during the capture of Port en Bessin on 7th June but was able to return to the unit in August just before the liberation of Fecamp. Later, on 1st November 1944 he was very seriously wounded during the assault on Walcheren. Sadly Ted passed away on the 26th October 2014 aged 91.
