Lance Corporal John Skelton was killed in action during operations at Vaagso, Norway. Son of Tom and Clara Skelton of Crookes, Sheffield; husband of Evelyn Skelton, of Sheffield.

Thierry Guiheneuf adds "I have placed a new commemorative plaque in memory of Arnold Howarth on 11 November 2022 in the remembrance garden by the commando memorial at Spean Bridge. He is now at the right of Bill "Dutch" Holland who was in the same group led by Lt. Roderick during Operation Chariot."
