Known by his fellow Commandos as Paddy Deighan. Service no. 4751121. Served from at least 1942 if not earlier in 5 troop ‘A’ section, no.1 sub section. In 1943 he was part of a Bren gun team in 5 troop.*

By the end of the war he held the rank of Sergeant.

Post war he emigrated to Australia and married Eileen and they had 2 children, Catherine and Peter. A member of the Commando Association his death was announced in the Obituaries within Association Newsletter 45 of September 1967.
