Philip is still gathering information about his father and uncle. He knows this so far.
His father Albert joined the Queens Royal Regiment, having lied about his age. He was born 12/9/1922 but told them 31/5/1922 having enlisted in June 1940. He trained at Achnacarry . He went with No 12 on the Lofoten raids. Then he joined No.1 Cdo. He left UK on RANCHI which was damaged by air raid and put in at Alexandria where they spent a limited time until continuing. He was a number 2 bren gunner. He fought in the Arakan, Myebon and Kangaw and was on Hill 170 Later he went to HK.
