Having previously lived in Bristol and South West after the war, in 1969 Maurice emigrated to Rhodesia. In 1976 he moved to Canada where he passed away from heart attack 14 September 1997.

Maurice was a post war member of the original Commando Association. He is named on a list of members they had lost contact with over the years - Lost Legion 2 issued March 1973.
