Commissioned into 4th Battalion, The Borders Regt, Charles Jordan Bellingham Pollitt volunteered for the Commandos and was posted to No.1 Cdo. A popular officer he became 2 i/c No.1 Cdo until his posting to No.5 Commando to succeed Lt Col D. Shaw.<br />
Lt Col Pollitt was badly wounded in the knee in the Battle for Hill 170.]]></description>
