Jimmy served as a TSM in No 4 Commando and later at the CBTC. A veteran of the Dieppe raid, his final post war rank attained was that of Major. He wrote several excellent books on Commando history. Soldier, schoolteacher, and writer, he led a full, varied, and rewarding life to the end.
