3663412 Private James Carten enlisted 5th Feb 1942 and was posted to the 13th Parachute Bn, South Lancs. Regt. On 14/2/44 he was attached to the Holding Operational Commando and then attached to No. 9 Commando from 8/10/44 until 9/3/45 when he was posted to 4th Bn. IRTD (Infantry Reinforcement Training Depot). On 5/4/45 he was posted to the 1st Bn. Kings Own Rifle Regiment.
