Neil adds " My father was one of the 51st Highland captured at St Valery, ten days into the march into captivity he jumped the line and spent the next seven months making his way through France and Spain eventually getting home. On return he joined the Commandos. After the war my dad who was a regular soldier took his demob but rejoined within months going back into the R.A.S.C until 1958/59 his original service began in 1932. His son Neils adds "This grouping with the Georg Jenson Honour mark was given to him for some activity with the 8th Danish Officer Corps."

No.9 Commando 1 troop. He was awarded his Military Medal and the Mentioned in Despatches whilst back with his Regiment.
