Sapper Stanley George Shipley died from cardiac failure whilst in a public ambulance en route to County Hospital, Farnborough. He was on leave pending Class A Release at the time.

Called up and joined the Depot 39.
Posted to No. 2 Commando April 1941- November 1941.
Posted 15 Infantry Training Centre.
Posted 30 Battalion Wilshire Regiment.
4th Bn., Wiltshire Regiment, 10 July 1944 wounded Hill 112 (gunshot left thigh*).
33 RHU November 1944 4th Bn., Wiltshire Regt.
Transferred to Royal Engineers in April 1945.
