<title><![CDATA[Capt. John 'Tim' Balchin, No 5 Commando &amp; CBTC.]]></title>

<i>Captain John Balchin was attached to the Commandos from the Royal Armoured Corps. Having completed his time at the  <a href="https://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/Commando+Training/commando_basic_training.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">Commando Basic Training Centre</a><i> (click on link to view image)</i> as an instructor, he was posted with No 5 Commando to the Far East and served with them in Burma and Hong Kong. After the war he completed his articles to become a Chartered Accountant, and in 1948 he migrated to South Africa where he spent the rest of his days. He passed away on the 30th March 2014 aged 94yrs. </i>]]></description>
