<i>&quot;L/Sgt (now CQMS) G. M. Broadman (10 Cdo) now with the 1st Bn. West Yorkshire Regt. in Austria, will be pleased to welcome members at his flat in Spittal, Carinthia. During recent years he has been making a name for himself in Army sporting circles, having to his credit the B.T.A. and British Army Ski championships, and in 1948 received the title of the &quot;Army's best all rounder&quot;. On one occasion he received his prize from Association Vice-President, Brigadier T. B. L. Churchill, C.B.E., M.C. (ex 2 Cdo Bde).&quot;</i><br />

died 30.03.2004 North Berwick.<br />

His son David adds &quot;Andrew came from Berlin in 1935 aged 15 as a Jewish refugee. In 1940, he was interned, shipped to Australia on the Dunera as an enemy alien, returning in 1941. He first joined the Pioneer Corps then X-Troop and trained through 1943 and early 1944. On March 3rd / 4th, in preparation for a raid on a V1 site, he was abseiling down Seven Sisters near Eastbourne when the rope got stuck. He cut himself free, fell 70 feet or so and was badly injured. As a result he took no part in further X-Troop activity.&quot;<br />

Private Johann Theilinger was a Sudetan Czech from Mikolov.  He was baptised a Catholic and later in life could speak numerous languages. He fought in the International Brigades in Spain, the Czech army in exile, later joining No.10 Commando 3 troop.
