Stan Worsley in 45RM Commando 'E' troop 1943
His son Steve adds "My Dad Stan Worsley, was in 45 RM Commando E Troop was part of 1st Special service brigade at Queen Red Beach, was captured couple of days after Normandy Landings and according to his records he escaped in April 1945. his mum received a letter saying he was MIA and she had a massive stroke after the news. she was confined to a wheelchair after that and my Dad told me he would have stayed in the Marines if his mum wasn't so ill so he got out in July 1946 to look after his mum. would love to have spoken more about his time in the Marines as I am ex forces RCT and my dads nephew who worshipped my dad managed to get into 22 SAS. Ive got a picture of my dad in Singapore don't know the date. my dad died age 76. he was a top bloke."
