Joe Rogers and Ted Douglas

Both these men took part in the raid on St Nazaire and both made it back but in different circumstances.

Joe Rogers was on ML443 which managed to get back to the UK and he rejoined No.2 Commando.
He was later awarded the Military Medal for his gallantry at Spilje Albania with 5 trp No.2 Cdo.

Ted Douglas was one of only 5 Commandos to evade capture who actually landed at St Nazaire.
He made his way to Marseilles from where he eventually got back to the UK.
For his gallantry he was awarded the Military Medal. He rejoined No.2 Commando.

Both were later promoted Sergeants and remained with No.2 Commando until it was disbanded.
