Sgt Stanley Martin, SAS & Special Boat Squadron.
Stanley enlisted into the Royal Corps of Signals in Holywood, County Down in 1941. Whilst serving under Major Jellico, Stanley and his SBS colleagues would sneak ashore on enemy-occupied Greek Islands on canoes or caiques. They took no supplies and 'acquired' what they needed from the locals! Their task was to harass the enemy, attack crucial installations in preparation for the main attack, which eventually came.
