Identification of Trooper.
I believe the Commando -second from left with Tent directly behind him ; could be my Dad. Pte. William Asquith 3 Troop 2 Commando.

Frank Letts 2 Cdo was from Wollaston in Northamptonshire as was Fred Carrington 43 Cdo and knew each other well. Both served on Vis at the same time (even visiting the same billet) though neither knew the other was there until meeting at home whilst on leave in England.

The man originally named as Pte F. Gooch has now been correctly identified by family and friends as Rfn. Frank Goode, RUR attached to No 2 Commando, later taken POW at St Nazaire
